To take advantage of the difficult times on the island, they have been trying in the last three days, who have called for residents of Santorini who have been forced to leave their homes in order to deceive them.
Reportedly, at least 50 phone calls have been made by scammers allegedly representing the Municipality of Thira and are requesting a Bank, Bank account and credit, arguing that they will allow them money for the tickets they have issued in order to leave the island.
In other cases they say that they will pay them money to leave the island.
These phenomena have upset the municipality that issued the announcement by drawing attention to the protection of personal and financial data.

The Municipality of Thira informs our fellow citizens that no one requests the Municipality or financial information, such as bank account numbers, credit cards or other sensitive information. Please be very careful and not give such information to anyone who claims to represent the municipality.
If you receive such requests, please contact the competent authorities or the Municipality of Thira immediately to report the incident.
