The real wealth of Santorini is for most of the many children living on the island- but what are the problems facing the children?
Unlike many other places in the region, Santorini has many children and is something that belongs to its tradition as we see in the report “where there is Greece” in SKAI.
Five hundred are the luxury families on the island, that is, one in three students in schools come from these families.
Happy large families, however, facing problems due to accuracy and deficiencies in health and education infrastructure.
For example, the large father Nikolaos Darzentas, a private employee, says life in Santorini does not automatically mean rich families as the cost of life on the island is high.
In any case, he is not overwhelmed by the difficulties as he says he has the valuable help of his parents.
After all, he adds as the old ones used to say, “House as much as you are and as long as you want”
The father, six children, a forerunner of a bone, who just 15 days ago welcomed his sixth member of his family, also admits that the issue of accuracy greatly afflicts their large islanders but health is also a big problem.
The above is also signed by Lefteris Fouteris, whose third child was needed in intensive care for eight months.
Lefteris’ family has since been facing several practical difficulties as the child needs occupation, speech therapy, physiotherapy and general care which on the island is much more expensive than Athens.
