The Senate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki met on the sidelines of the recent decision of the Rectors of the Rectors and expresses its concern about student deletions
The Senate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (3156/12-2-2025), in the spirit of the recent decision of the Rectors of the Rectors, expresses its concern about the consequences of applying the provision for the horizontal deletion of students/three with the sole criterion of the maximum duration Attendance, which does not substantially separate the inactive students/inactive students from active students/active students, those and those who are interested in completing their studies.
Thus, several students and many students are at risk of deleting the degree or systematically participate in the last years exams and have serious prospects for completing their studies, if given the opportunity.
It therefore proposes to regulate this serious issue with social sensitivity, with the introduction of other criteria that certify the interest of students for completion of their studies, such as the Course Statement, the number of lessons for the degree and participation in examination.
In addition, the Senate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki points out the need to study and address the causes of delay and abandonment of studies, attend the course of students’ studies and students, and to create support services to students and students.
