In the Vigla shelter, in the area of Pisoderi, thanks to Federal Ski Coach Christos Tita, the sport of endurance is flourishing. In Greece’s oldest ski resort, Christos Titas trains with other children and his daughter, Nefeli, who excelled in the sport, as he was in the Beijing winter Olympiad two years ago.
The endurance ski and the difficulties of the sport
In strength ski, skiers are based on their own movement, using their body weight to move on snowy soil instead of using lifts or other forms of help. But Nefeli does not hide the difficulties it faces. The specifications required by the sport do not exist at the Florina ski resort, as opposed to the corresponding centers abroad. “We train with what we have,” he says.
The 22 -year -old Nefeli, a medical student, as she reports in “Where there is Greece” has a big dream to take part in the next Olympiad. That is why, along with her studies, she devotes time and energy to her training with her father. Speaking on the show “Where there is Greece”, she shares her love for sports and talks about the effort to achieve her goal.
