Valentine’s Day was a difficult time for all distribution of goods and their drivers, as it is a day on which chocolates, flowers and a bunch of other romantic surprises must be delivered to their recipients in time. Now, Ford Pro has developed a new technology, which aims to simplify many of the work these drivers perform during the deliveries.

Delivery Assist 1 can automatically turn off the engine, close the windows, lock the vehicle doors and activate the alarm lights. This could well help businesses to save a few valuable seconds per stance, improving business efficiency and enabling them to make more deliveries.

This new technology contributes to the care of drivers and fleet managers, ensuring that van vehicles remain safe when they are removed from them to complete a tradition. In addition, it is designed to reduce the number of work that drivers must remember so that they can focus on deliveries.

“Delivery Assist reduces the driver’s duties list, making the movements that make it more comfortable and accelerating the delivery process. As a result, it delivers more parcels in a shorter time. Something that is good for both our customers and their own customers. Exemption from many minor obligations can make a big difference, “said Hans Schep, General Manager, Ford Pro, Europe.

Once the driver completes the delivery of the package, the Delivery Assist system helps him get away from the vehicle. The van can unlock using the built -in keyless input system, and with the pressure of the brake pedal, the engine gets forward and the windows return to their previous position. Drivers have the ability to adapt the automation of windows, alarm and lock according to their needs.

Delivery Assist is the fruit of Ford’s anthropocentric team’s efforts, which has previously created many more innovations such as the reclining steering wheel. This technology will be available in 2025 2.3 Ford E-Transit models and Ford Transit Ecoblue 2.4 with diesel engine and automatic transmission. In addition, it will be offered in van versions of the brand new Ford E-Transit Custom 2.5 as well as the Ford Transit Custom 2.6 with automatic transmission.

The first deliveries to customers are expected in the summer of 2025.
