The Ministry of the Interior announced that it is proceeding with an extraordinary grant 850,000 euros in Santorini, Amorgos, Anafi and Ios to meet their urgent needs due to earthquakes.
The grant is distributed as follows: 400,000 euros for Santorini and from 150,000 to Amorgos, Ios and Anafi.
The announcement was made by Mr. Spanakis during his visit to Santorini on Tuesday while earlier he went to Amorgos, Ios and Anafi.
In a post, the Deputy Minister of Interior states that the funding decision has been signed and is readily available:
Today’s tour of Anafi began and we continued in Amorgos and Ios. I informed the mayors, Anafis Jacob Roussos, Amorgos Eleftherios Karaiskos and Ios (Heads) Gika Gika on the extraordinary funding of the interior ministry, with 150,000 euros for each municipality. The funding decision was signed today and is readily available to cover emergencies. I also had the opportunity at meetings at Anafi, Amorgos and Ios City Halls with the mayors, board members and representatives of other authorities, to jointly examine the issues that concern local communities and to launch interventions for the immediate future.
