The 2.5 -year -old girl was hosting in “Agios Stylianos”, as a court ruling was removed from his mother and found unconscious there
Criminal prosecution for homicide by converging negligence, to a degree of misdemeanor, was brought against six people for the deaths of the 2.5 -year -old girl, originally from Nigeria, at the “Agios Stylianos” Municipal Nursery.
Among the defendants are the then President and his deputy in the administration of the Foundation, two senior administrators and two doctors. These persons were called to testify as suspected of committing criminal offenses, in the context of a preliminary investigation ordered by the Thessaloniki Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation was called upon to carry out the Subdivision of Crimes Against Life and Ownership of Thessaloniki. Evaluating the findings of the investigation, the prosecutor was prosecuted by transmitting the case file to the Thessaloniki Public Prosecutor’s Office. Once the procedural actions have been approved, the case is expected to be introduced into the audience of the One -Member Court of Appeals due to a special bid, since one of the defendants has the status of a lawyer.
According to the case file, the baby girl was unconscious on 17/2 at the particular institution by a employee and despite EKAB’s crew attempts to restore this it was not possible. The previous day the child had been taken to the Hippocrates Hospital as he had a problem with the tonsils, with the treating doctors giving him medication. After being discharged, he returned to “Agios Stylianos” but his health deteriorated and lost his life.
As described in the case file, the 2.5 -year -old girl was hosted by “Agios Stylianos”, as a court ruling had been deducted from his mother. Due to this decision, she failed to see her daughter when she was admitted to the hospital. The tragic coincidence was that the mother managed to overturn the previous judicial decision and was going to pick up her child the day after his death.
