McFish is back on the McDonald’s menu in Brazil. The breaded fish sandwich returns accompanied by rustic potatoes with tartar sauce, forming McFish & Chips, a version inspired by the traditional British dish.

The combo will be available in the network units from this Tuesday (25), with prices ranging from R $ 36.90 to R $ 43.90.

The image shows two breaded chicken sandwiches with cheese and sauce, placed on a blue surface. Beside there is a pack of mcdonald's chips, with some visible potatoes.

For the launch, MC Donald’s bet on a partnership with the Duolingo language application and an event with 300 drones flying over Sao Paulo on Sunday night (23) to announce the news.

You Speak McFish’s “You Speak?” Campaign brings a client trying to ask for “fish with potato” in the restaurant. After some wrong attempts, she hits the combo’s name in a dynamic similar to the application experience.

McFish left the Brazilian menu in 2019, after an analysis in the portfolio indicates that the effort to keep it was greater than the demand for the sandwich. At the time, Big Mac, McDonald’s flagship, sold more than 400 units per day in a single restaurant, and McFish, four.

The preparation of the sandwich was more complex than that of others. The fish used in the preparation came from Alaska’s ship, and each hamburger was fried on time. Also, in the original recipe, only half a slice of cheese was still used, which could generate waste on a day of weak movement.

But as soon as it went out of line, the sandwich joined the hamburgers’ list that were not famous just for the taste, but for nostalgia. An Instagram page even created, @voltamcfish, to order the return of the sandwich.

He was relaunched last year with pre-sale list. This time, although it has no queue, availability in restaurants will also be limited.
