Private Employees’ Union states that he can no longer have a presence in such a toxic online space
GSEE has decided to turn off its X (former Twitter) account as it points out in its announcement, the change of property has increased the spread of false news.
The trade union, after recalling that many have left the platform, such as educational institutions, media and social bodies, announces its decision to leave.
The GSEE announcement:
GSEE has decided to disable its account on the X (former Twitter) platform (formerly twitter), which was recently owned by tycoon Elon Musk.
Changing the policy of the platform after changing ownership has increased alarmingly the spreading of false news, far -right conspiracy theories and racist views and has contributed to enhancing toxicity in user talks. This new situation has forced numerous unions, educational institutions, historical media and social bodies worldwide to leave the platform.
We believe that social networks are oxygen for democracy and public dialogue, as long as rules are observed and ensuring basic conditions of impartiality and objectivity. GSEE believes that it can no longer be present in such a toxic online space and will consider alternative ways of communicating its views in society.
