Mitsotakis for Odysseas Kyriakopoulos: His loss is an unfilled gap

by

The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his grief over the death of Odysseas Kyriakopoulos, former president of SEV, emphasizing that his loss is an unfilled gap.

The Prime Minister summed up that Odysseas Kyriakopoulos was an exemplary President of SEV, a voice of reason and prudence. But also a cultured, restless and sensitive character who marked the new era of the Opera as the head of its Board of Directors and expressed his condolences to his family.

The statement in detail:

I was sadly informed of the death of Odysseas Kyriakopoulos, after a short but really brave battle for his life. His loss gives, I believe, to the expression “unfilled gap” its full meaning.

Because Odysseus still had a lot to give to the local economy and society, as he combined the successful business course with the interest for the employees. The industrial tradition with extroverted innovation. Cosmopolitanism with silent patriotism. And the contribution to art with the anonymous help to the weak fellow human being. He was a worthy Greek and a complete citizen.

Odysseas Kyriakopoulos took over the reins of a family business to keep it prosperous in times when Greek processing was being tested and to lead it to the next day. He was, at the same time, an exemplary President of BSE, a voice of reason and prudence. But also a cultured, restless and sensitive character who marked the new era of the Opera as the head of its Board of Directors.

I say goodbye to a special person and a dear friend for many years, keeping forever his pioneering thought and his wide smile. I extend my most sincere condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren.
