This year marks 100 years since the foundation of quantum theory. In 2025 it has been declared an international year of Quantum Science & Technology by the UN, and the Eugenides Foundation participates in this great celebration of science with a festival for young and old alike. In collaboration with the University of Patras, it organizes a unique science festival, dedicated to the most exciting scientific discovery of the 20th century, which shaped modern technology.

A trip to the quantum world

How would our lives be without quantum physics? No mobile phones, computers, laser, magnetic resonance imaging? Quantum engineering is not just a theoretical concept – it is the driving force behind the greatest technological innovations of our century.

The “100 Years of Quantum Theory” festival invites the public to an interactive, educational and entertaining journey to the strange and charming world of the microcosm.

What will the festival include?

Scientific Speeches: Professor Haris Anastopoulos (University of Patras) will speak of “100 years quantum: how the conflict over the nature of reality leads to new technologies”.

Science Shows: Live experiments from the Eugenides Foundation’s scientific team, which reveal the paradoxical properties of the quantum world.

Experimental Stations: Interact with the quantum world! Try your luck in detecting elementary particles, observe individual emission spectra and measure the speed of light.

‘Ask a scientist’: Do you have questions about quantum physics? Talk to experts and solve any of your queries.

Interactive Games & Views: Discover quantum mechanics through simulations, poster and projections.

Quantum for everyone!

Learn, explore, experiment and become part of the revolution of quantum physics!
