The beautiful port of Kerkini, which in the summer welcomes about 400,000 tourists, faces a series of problems with the main lack of pier.

Yiannis Reklos, president of Kerkini, speaks to “where there is Greece” about the problems of the area’s infrastructure. As he characteristically states, the lack of pier creates many obstacles, especially when people visit people with mobility problems.

Mr Reklos characteristically states that in these cases, 4 people are needed to carry the wheelchair to a boat. “Infrastructure must be made correct with specifications,” he notes and cites the example in Prespa where there are environmental infrastructure.

In the port of Kerkini, they are in miserable state, so cities carry them in their hands to transport them into the boats. A port that is essentially the starting point of all the boats of the lake and the surrounding villages.
