Great mobilization of firefighters is currently underway at the Kastoria Regional Unit, where multiple rage fires on grassland.
According to ERT information, at least six active fronts have erupted in various areas of Kastoria at noon on Saturday, March 15, mobilizing authorities.
In particular, the fires are identified in the following areas:
– Two active fronts in grassland areas in beautiful
– a front in grassland extension at high,
– a front in a grassy area in the dendroochori,
– a front in grassland extension in the pink,
– A front in a lakeside reed in Polycarp.
The situation is particularly difficult, as fires spread rapidly due to strong winds and high temperatures in the area. At the same time, the fire forces have made enormous efforts to extinguish fires.
However, due to the extent of the fronts, it has been necessary to strengthen the forces. Specifically, the Kastoria Fire Department has been reinforced with firefighters operating on the fronts from Ptolemais, Kozani, Grevena, Prespa and 2 teams said by Kozani.
Fortunately, there are no residential areas, but at the same time the authorities are calling on residents to remain alert and follow the instructions of the relevant bodies.
Finally, it is recalled that the Fire Brigade has issued a firefighting firefighting provision from March 11 to 17 2025 throughout the territory due to the event of an increased number of fires in recent days, as well as the meteorological conditions that prevail (high temperatures).
