The new identity includes personal number – what to do if you want to get a new identity – the digital appointment – detailed steps
The process of issuing new identities is underway, with the deadline expiring in August 2026. The new identity includes a personal number that will be used to verify natural persons dealing with public sector bodies. The personal number will be compulsorily granted to people who have a tax register number (VAT) or Social Security Registry (AMKA) and is expected to gradually replace both the VAT and the AMKA of natural persons within two years.
You can book a digital appointment for the release of the new identity that requires the physical presence in the police authority you want, regardless of your residence.
To close your electronic appointment you will need to enter:
– Your personal passwords to Taxisnet
– Your contact details
During your visit to the competent police authority, where you will issue your identity, you will need to provide the necessary supporting documents.
In detail:
a) Photo, in digital form.
The photo can be taken either directly to the authorities, or you can contact a certified professional photographer who will post your photo in the Myphoto app by gov.gr.
In this case, the photographer will give you a code, which you will need to associate with your VAT ID and then authorize the “Issue/Replacement Identity Identity Identity” application to draw it. You will find detailed instructions here.
This procedure is necessary in order for the employee of the competent issue authority to search and recover your photo.
(b) Application – Responsible statement, which will be granted to you by the issuance Authority.
On the basis of your request, a search system will be carried out by the Ministry of Interior’s “Citizens Registry” of the Ministry of the Interior, the necessary, for the issuance of the Bulletin. The application will be printed and you will be asked to sign.
(c) Application for issuing an ID card, which will be granted you from the issuance Authority.
The application is supplemented by the competent issue of issuing, based on your information, as it arises from the Ministry of Interior’s “Citizens’ Register’s Information System or the Certificate of the Municipality, whose registration is registered.
After signing it electronically (with digital signature on special equipment), you will be printed and asked to confirm the exact information it contains and sign it and manuscripts.
d) Electronic fee of 10,00 €.
Each bulletin requires an electronic fee in favor of the State, amounting to € 10.00 (Type of Paravate: [4485] – “Issue of a Greek Citizen Identity Bulletin”), which corresponds to the fee of the Bulletin’s Body, its printing and personalization costs, and the expense of its safe transfer.
If you are a large one (a property that must be derived from relevant evidence, eg luxury booklet), the fee you have to pay is half, 5.00 €
(Type of Paravas: [4486] – “Issue of a Greek Citizen Identity Bulletin”.
In addition, the request for issuing is the provision of the Greek Police stamp of € 0.50 (Type of Paravas: [2043] – “The application (tab) for the issuance of a Greek Nationals Identity Bulletin (ELAS Station)”.

When you turn to the issuance Authority for ID issue you must already issue the required fees. In order to use/deposit an e-fee in the carrier, it is necessary to complete its payment.

Additional:
(a) Your surname, name, surname and mitrum will also be listed in Latin characters, with transcript according to the ELOT standard. 743. (See your details with ELOT standard 743 here)
If you wish any of the above information, indicate in a different manner of ELOT 743, you will need to submit a travel or other domestic or foreign authority document from which the dispute may result.
(b) If you wish to indicate your blood group and Rhesus, you should provide a Certificate of Nursing Foundation or Health Laboratory or Blood Donation Card to which it is listed.
The listing of that item is not mandatory.
(c) If you bring your face dermatosia (tattoos), you should provide a medical certificate from which its permanent character results in it.
d) In the process of submitting the application for a new bulletin, the competent official will ask you to finger.
The typing, which is done with special, electronic equipment, is for two (2) fingerprints, and in particular the indicators of your two hands.
In the event of a permanent or temporary inability to obtain a fingerprint of an index fingerprint, a thumb, medium or remake of the same hand is taken in a series of fingerprint, and in the case of a single -handed fingerprint and a second finger is obtained from the existing hand, in the same row.
The permanent or temporary inability to obtain fingerprints, in addition to cases of obvious amputation, is evidenced by a medical certificate, which bears the signature of a physician of a similar specialty with the condition confirmed.
It should be noted that if it is temporarily impossible to obtain your fingerprints, then the duration of your card will be limited (12 months power), instead of 10 years that apply to all other cases.
(e) In the case of a release to a person whose custody shall be filed in accordance with a court order or which is in committees or judicial support, then the relevant diligence or appointment of a Commissioner or Judicial Co -supporter should be presented.
(f) Officers, officers and gunmen of the Armed Forces and those of the Security Corps, who are leaving the active service or war availability, shall, with their application and the provisions of Article 7 (1) of Law 127/127/1969, contract.
g) Your application for a new ID issue automatically receives a unique number, application number. With this number you will be able to ask any query about your application as well as pick up your card.
Upon completion of the application process, a relevant email will be sent to you with the application number and all the necessary information (issuing authority, etc.)
Step by step the process via the appointment platform
- The person concerned – a natural person enters the platform (here), using the personal credentials codes of the General Secretariat of Information Systems of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
- The person concerned may apply for an appointment with the same procedure and on behalf of his minor children, over 12 years of age.
- Following entering the above platform, the applicant, after reviewing his information, compulsorily registered the address of his email and optionally the number of his mobile phone, which may be drawn by the National Register of Communication (EMEP).
- He then selects the issuance Authority (regardless of his place of residence), the date and time zone he wishes to serve.
- Subsequently, the person concerned must confirm his reservation and complete the procedure by selecting the “YES” and receives an information message to the declared email address, including, inter alia, basic information on the processing of the requested procedure, as well as the contact information.
- The appointment planning request may be rescheduled or canceled or re -submitted through the same platform as the above procedure.
- Natural persons can plan the date of appointment for themselves and on behalf of third parties to issue or replace a new type of identity, except in cases of loss, theft and wear and tear and through KEP.
- At regular intervals depending on the date of the appointment, they are sent from the reminder platform to the email address stated by the applicant.
Initially, the citizen will enter the Myinfo platform to shape his unique personal number. This will include a letter from the alphabet, which should also be available in Latin (eg K, M, N, etc., but not Ψ, θ, ω etc.), two numerical digits and its full VAT.
Specifically, of the three additional alphanumeric elements to be added to the personal number, the citizen will select two (the letter and one number), while the Myinfo platform will select the third (one number). The entire personal number will be stored in the new identity.
