“With complete transparency, methodicality and determination, we immediately begin the public dialogue on national strategy of de -instituting,” the minister added, and pledged “to achieve this goal by actions and not words, to ensure that every child in Greece will grow up with a love affair”.

Domna Michaelidou, during the three -hour meeting of ESANY, raised specific priorities to restart this top collective body, almost two years after its last meeting. ESSANY It is the collective body that brings together all scientists and professionals in the field of child protection to coordinate the processes of adoption and adoption, to ensure the law and transparency and at the same time to promote the interests of children.

The five priorities are:

1. The constant and steady monitoring of the elements of children who are in institutional care and the applications of the candidates and adoptive parents, as well as the transparency through the disclosure of every quarter, the data on the course of children’s de -institutionalization.

2. The activation of checks on the operating specifications of child protection units.

3. Strengthening the supervision of the management and transparency of its finances.

4. The strengthening of the functioning of professional fostering as a basic lever de -institutionalization of a special group of children – that of children with disabilities.

5. The increase in semi -autonomous living apartments for adolescents over the age of 15 years of age.

As noted by the ministry, through these policies, the aim is to de -firing children in closed structures, through targeted programs and actions such as childbirth and admonition. According to figures presented by the Secretary General of Demographic and Housing Policy and President of the ESANY, Konstantinos Gloumis, childbirth has increased 32% compared to 2022 and 11% compared to 2023, while recipients have increased 14% compared to 2022 and 5% over 2023.
