The percentage of Greek businesses using artificial intelligence as mentioned in the 2nd Congress in Greece has more than doubled in Greece
Within a year, the percentage of Greek companies using artificial intelligence has more than doubled.
This was noted by speaking at the 2nd Congress Invest in Greece, and specifically in the debate on “How Technology Changes Data” organized by the Legal Library, Secretary General of Research and Innovation, Tasos Gaitanis.
Referring to what a business needs to be able to adopt new technologies, Mr Gaitanis explained that well -trained staff and knowledge of financial tools is necessary. While the sectors adopting new technologies at high pace are computer science, health services and biotechnology, telecommunications, smart infrastructure, e -commerce, and agriculture.
Speaking about the progress of our business in recent years in the adoption of new technologies, the Secretary -General reported on Eurostat data, according to which, in 2024, 9.8% of Greek companies adopted artificial intelligence technologies, almost twice as much as 2023, reaching only 4%. While for businesses with a high degree of innovation, it is those that concern a large number of employees.
Finally, Mr Gaitanis explaining the measures implemented by the government to disseminate new technologies to businesses, said: “The basis of innovation is research, because if there is no new knowledge there can be no innovation. That is why as a state, for the last five years, we have been constantly motivated. We have created the spin offs, rejuvenate technology offices and give brave tax exemptions, reaching from 200% to 315%, to businesses investing in research and development. We support research in order to create innovation and ultimately enhance competitiveness. “
