The Administration of the Samos General Hospital “Agios Panteleimon” has made a commander, requesting the 2nd Health District (Ministry of Education) of Piraeus and Aegean, for the immediate announcement of 12 vacancies of the National Health System (NHS). This move aims to strengthen the hospital’s medical staff and improve the health services provided to the islanders.

The positions requested to be announced are:

Pediatrics (1 Curator A ‘position)
Internal Pathology (1 Curator A ‘and 1 Curator B’)
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) (1 Curator A ‘position, with the possibility of a physician’s candidacy of various specialties)
Radiology (1 Curator A ‘position)
Anesthesiology (1 Curator A ‘and 1 Curator B’ position)
Cardiology (1 Curator A ‘position)
Gastroenterology (1 Director position)
Ophthalmology (1 Director position)
Orthopedic and Traumatology (1 Curator A ‘position)
Obstetrics – Gynecology (1 Curator B ‘position)

The decision to submit the request was taken due to the urgency of the situation and the forthcoming termination of the term of office of the Joint Board of Directors of Samos and GN-Ikaria on June 5, 2024.

Hospital Governor Ioannis Hadjikonstantis emphasizes the need for immediate approval of the request by the Ministry of Health in order to fill vacancies and to strengthen the hospital departments.

The lack of medical staff creates significant problems in the operation of the hospital, making it difficult to provide sufficient health services to residents of Samos.

The filling of vacancies is therefore a critical priority for ensuring the proper functioning of the hospital and citizens’ health.
