Against the backdrop of the new bill on rail security, Deputy Minister of Transport Konstantinos Kiranakis proceeded from the first day to a series of autopsies, meetings and requests for written information to all stakeholders – OSE, RAS, RASA, Raas.

Deputy Minister of Transport Konstantinos Kiranakis, who rose by train to Thessaloniki, requested, according to the report, “to have the problems, positions and suggestions of all responsible” to have records, so that the new institutional framework will be filed by the European Communists in the coming days, (ERA) and of course EPANAAM.

Reportedly, many of the relevant memorandums that have arrived at the ministry confirm the image that Mr Kyranakis has gained with both the lively autopsies and the work meetings he has already performed.

Among the memoranda, the letter was sent by the Railway Regulatory Authority (RAS), but it states unauthorized for the safety of the railway and puts responsibility for OSE.

Finally in the responsibility ball with a clear framework for responsibilities, staffing and digital tools.

The new bill comes to put the “responsibility ball” in order with a number of immediate actions that aim at both the utilization of digital tools already used in other European countries, and the creation of a clear framework for responsibilities and responsibilities.

The draft law prepared by the ministry emphasizes the reorganization of critical bodies, the enhancement of independence and accountability where needed, and in particular the operational implementation of EPAAAM, Commission and ERA. The aim is to be the first milestone for the transition of the Greek Railway to a new era of accountability and transparency.

RAS: General notes and disclaimer responsibility

Although RAS has the responsibility of certifying the security and revocation of the Railway Safety License, in its letter it claims that it has no substantial jurisdiction, which raises questions. The existing issues it raises in a general way of lack of telecommunication and ETCs on tracks on the railway are already many times recorded and do not substantially contribute to solving problems, highlighting well -known issues that the previous political leadership had pointed out.
That is why as we learn soon, there will be initiatives regarding the operation and staffing of the RAS, so that its administration, whose term of office has expired, has the role that is appropriate to an independent authority.
