by

The ntantades.gov.gr platform and the “Register of Curators” open on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, where all those who wish to be certified and employed as curators and curators within the co-financed “Nurses of the Neighborhood” program will register.

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the program concerns the home care of infants and toddlers aged from 2 months to 2.5 years (2 years and 6 months) and provides financial support for working parents, single parents, contractors and especially mothers, for the use of certified childcare services.

In the first phase, it will be piloted in 32 municipalities of the country and then it will be implemented throughout the territory.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, noted in this regard: “With the opening of the platform ntantades.gov.gr and the” Register of Curators “, we are fulfilling our pre-election commitment, a modern European initiative that” answers “the problems of modern family and employees.

The “Neighborhood Nanny” program is a social policy, as we support in practice the parents and especially the mothers, who want to continue working even after having their children. Of course, this program is not isolated, it follows other measures we have taken to address the overall demographic problem, such as the extension of parental leave, introduced by the new labor law, the allowance of 2,000 euros for each child who born, the reduction of VAT on baby items and other measures we have taken for families and large families. “All these are not words, it is a social policy that is implemented in practice!”

The “Neighborhood Nanny” program, which is already being implemented with great success in other European countries, has also come to our country, to fill the gaps that exist in the home care services for infants and toddlers. “We want to stand by parents and effectively support women who want to remain active in the labor market, after having their children,” said Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in charge of Demographic Policy and Family, Maria Syregela. that the actions “we promote, aim at balancing personal and professional life, achieving equality between men and women in employment and improving the daily lives of citizens and society.”

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Giannis Tsakiris, said: “The” Nanny of the Neighborhood “is a program that comes from other European countries, to fill a large gap in modern families, the new mother, the new father , but also single-parent families who need the practical support of the State. We are particularly pleased that the action is funded by the NSRF and, in particular, through the Operational Program “Human Resources Development and Education and Lifelong Learning”, in the context of reconciliation actions of family and professional life. “After all, the government’s commitment was that it would pursue a social policy, alleviating inequalities, and we were able to implement it with the help of European resources, setting a new dimension in the term social policy.”
