Intensive controls by the Attica Region in view of Easter – 4,236 checks have been carried out so far, seized 4.2 tonnes of inappropriate products and fines of more than 157,000 euros have been imposed
Intense rates and strict adherence to all the predicted protocols continue on Easter, the controls of the Attica Region’s scales in the market in order to address the phenomena of fraudulent and profanity, which circumvent public health and financially affect consumers.
Under the order of the Regional Governor Nikos Chardalia, by Monday, April 21, all the competent control mechanisms of the Attica will be on foot to ensure the proper and legal operation of all healthcare stores in every corner of the basin.
“It is a firm commitment to our administration, but also my personal will, not to leave the slightest margin of phenomena of fraudulent and profanity,” Mr Chardalias said, adding: “The order that our audit services have received is simple, but not clear: All of these holy days, our scales will be in the field, in every neighborhood of our Attica, to ensure that the products that citizens are supplied will be completely safe for their health, in the predicted qualitative specifications and at the right price – at a time when families’ finances are extremely burdensome. Each infringement will immediately impose the penalties provided for by law, without any exception. Be sure that the Attica Region will do what we need to spend the Holy Days of Easter as we deserve. I wish everyone a Happy Easter and a Happy Resurrection. “
