In a climate of deep devotion, the sequence of the Restoration was held at noon on Good Friday, in the Holy Trinity, known as the Russian Orthodox Church of Philellonas.

Members of the Russian community, Greek faithful and visitors experienced in a different way, as a dark atmosphere prevailed inside the Holy Trinity, and the unique light comes from the candles and the few rays that pass inside the temple. At the same time, the mourners and melodies of the choir reinforced the emotion.

Father Syndis Victoratos, Head of the Church of the Holy Trinity, together with the Russian priest “down” the body of Christ, with the choir chanting lamentations and the praises that express the pain of the Virgin and the faithful of his passion. The body of Christ was wrapped in a shroud and followed a small procession inside the temple, while in the middle of the Holy Trinity the Epitaph began to be adorned, symbolizing the burial of Christ.

Good Friday with the sequence of removal is considered as the most sad time of the Passion Week and prepares the faithful for the Holy Saturday and the Resurrection.
