Late 2026 with early 2027 will be given to circulation the Suburban Railway of West Attica which will connect all the coastal areas from Elefsina to Nea Peramos and Megara with the existing suburban network in Athens and the airport.

The network includes 8 stations stops: ELPE Aspropyrgos, Aspropyrgos, Vamvakias, Elefsina, ELPE Elefsina, Loutropyrgou, Nea Peramos and Grand Station.

It is essentially the upgrading of the existing suburban railway western Attica and in particular the Ano Liosia – New SS Department. Megara – PS Megara, with the contractor METKA’s company Metlen Groupfunded by the RRF and will connect West Attica with Athens, Athens International Airport, Piraeus and the rest of the rail network.

The project concerns the construction of a new suburban railway branch from Ano Liosia to Megara, within the existing railway runway of the old railway to the Peloponnese.

In summary, the object of the project concerns the construction of a single line of 36 km in the west of Athens, from Ano Liosia to the old Megara Railway Station, on the axis of the old metric line of the SPAP, serving the densely populated areas of Aspropyrgos, Eleusis.

In particular, the project concerns the renovation of the railway line with new materials and certification to the Interoperability Authorities and includes a 25KV airline installation, an installation of a signaling and telecommunications system with ETCS L1 with all stations, telecommunications systems and telecommunications systems and High Speed ​​(Surrounded) at Ano Liosia Railway Station.

The budget of the project also includes the Line Branch to the Old Megara Station, whose construction is an option that is activated by the approval of the environmental conditions for that section.
