The Heraklion Public Prosecutor is expected to be referred to the six arrested – five Cretans and one from Chalkida – for a serious case of antiquity revealed after a large operation of executives of the Organized Crime Management Directorate, with the assistance of Cretan Police Services.

Among the detainees are alleged to be a Public Service executive – a well -known Heracliot – while the ancient findings, about 40 were found in a house in the village of Atsipades Monofatsi.

Police and private investigator George Tsoukalis, who allegedly assisted in the investigations at the level of information, speak of high -value ancient artifacts. In any case, the expert report on their archaeological value is expected.

Arrested

In addition to the manager arrested in Heraklion, the owner of the house in Atsipades, two other Cretans from the villages of the Municipality of Gortyn and a Cretan from the area of ​​Amari Rethymnon, was also arrested. The 6th arrested is from Chalkida.

One of the detainees was found to hold a gun, which was seized.

According to neakriti.gr, the objects, according to preliminary estimates, are of great archaeological and commercial value.

The action of the circuit had already been followed by police officers in Attica. The detainees had rented a residence in the inland area of ​​Heraklion, which they had turned into a storage and presentation of archaeological finds. This property was said to have served as a temporary “showroom” for buyers. The suspects made an appointment with interested collectors in order to show them the findings and negotiate their sale.
