Clarifications on the Return of the Frigate Hydra and the cost of crossing the Suez Canal
Sources of the Navy regarding a publication and republishing of it about the renovation of the frigate “Hydra” from the “Shield” operation “They left the frigate Hydra for 4 days, without oil in the port of Egypt, and we paid 150,000 euros” and features (dimensions and displacement).
Consequently, the same sources point out, this amount corresponds to the cost of crossing rather than a penalty and is paid by all ships that run by the Suez Canal.
Concerning the delay in refueling the frigate in the port of Egypt where it had sailed upon its return, ending its mission from the “Shields” operation, it is due to the Navy’s sources on procedural issues, as the two -year -olds were activated for the first time.
The Navy was refuted directly by the corresponding Egyptian Navy, without intermediaries, saving from this process of about 80,000 euros, the same sources add.
The only “penalty” – of the order of 7,000 euros – in the whole traffic was due to the delay of the above ship (due to weather conditions and speed) to enter the predicted series of Convoy given to him by the competent authorities to cross the canal within a specific time of time, Navy.
