With a new “face”, the “Garden of Water Garden” is ready to welcome the thousands of visitors to the new beach, a point that was warmly loved by the waterfall, the artificial lakes and the plants that were interested in the world of Thessaloniki, but gradually, over time, began to “began”.

This period completed part of the necessary work to restore accumulated problems and the “regeneration” of the space. Among other things, the wooden pergola were maintained, the tanks and the machinery, the waterfall was cleaned, the thick layer of salts was removed, and the lighting worked again.

The special soil and plants in the lakes will be left to give its old glamor to this garden, as the Deputy Mayor of Technical Works of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Prodromos Nikiforidis told RES-EIA. In the next period, the water lilies, of various types of irises, erections, colomases, will be purchased to complete the transformation.

At the same time, along the paving of the new beach, the new Koukounaries were placed in place of the old ones that had been dried, and the maintenance of the umbrellas of Zogolopoulos, the well -known sculpture that dominates the coastal front and has been multiplied by residents and visitors.

Some of the umbrellas have been damaged and will travel to Athens next time to repair, so that they can return to their base completely refreshed.

Finally, they are expected to be planted in the “garden of the afternoon sun”, where the Tempi monument is located, about 1,500 beds, but also to illuminate the “Sculpture Garden” above. “It was the will and desire of the municipal authority to generally return the image of the new beach, which is enjoyed by citizens,” Mr Nikiforidis underlined.
