A letter to the National Social Partners to participate in the open dialogue that starts for the preparation of the Action Plan, with the aim of strengthening collective bargaining and increasing the percentage of employee coverage, was sent by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameos.

The Action Plan, which must be drawn up by the end of 2025, under Law 5163/2024, entitled: “Integration of Directive (EU) 2022/2041 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022”, will include clear timetables and specific measures to increase the amount Autonomy of the social partners, in the context of the integration of that Directive (EU).

According to the announcement, social partners are invited to indicate an expert within 5 days of receipt of the letter, which will participate in the preparatory procedures for raising good practices from European Union countries and preparing the soil to submit proposals by social partners.

In the letter, the Minister of Labor emphasizes that the training of the Action Plan presupposes an extensive dialogue with the social partners, who will begin, after preparatory work and then, the partners will receive an official invitation in order to formulate their proposals within 30 days.

Subject: Definition of experts for preparatory actions of the action plan of Law 5163/2024

Honorable Mr President,

As you know, by Law 5163/2024, Directive (EU) 2022/2041 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on sufficient minimum wages in the European Union, was integrated into the Greek legal order.

Specifically, according to Article 5 of the above law, the Action Plan will last from one to five years, it will set a clear timetable and specific measures to increase the rate of coverage from collective bargaining, with full respect for the autonomy of the social partners, and will have to be drawn up by the end of the year.

As the training of the Action Plan requires extensive dialogue with social partners, please, as you indicate to us an expert, who will be involved in work to raise good practices from European Union countries and the preparation of soil to submit proposals by social partners, days after receipt of this.

Following the preparatory work, there will be a dialogue between the social partners and the Ministry of Labor and subsequently an official invitation, to formulate your proposals for the Action Plan, as provided for in Article 5 (2) of Law 5163/2024, within a time limit of at least 30 calendar days from the time of 30 days.
