Spanish police today arrested a couple of Germans who lived out of the world and keeping their children in more than three years in Oviedo, northwestern Spain.

The children, a 10 -year -old and his twin brothers, eight -year -olds, did not study at school, were “neglected” and lived “in the impurities” in what the Spanish media call “the home of terror”.

Police were alerted to the situation by a family neighbor on April 14.

When the police went home they found that there was not only one man inhabited there, as he was reported in the registry: this was also evidenced by the “many shopping” that was delivered to the external entrance.

According to neighbors, no one ever came out of this house, which was rented in October 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Parents, a German and a German American, had gathered a large amount of drugs, police also said, while also referring to “hygiene” problems and “unhealthy living conditions”.

“All of us struck Covid-19 Syndrome, Long Covid syndrome and everything that followed. We can somehow guess what a family might have led to be closed for such a long time. The fact that they were wearing (surgical) masks can be considered anecdotal … or not, “explained police inspector Francisco Javier Lothano Garcia.

The Spanish authorities hope that the investigation will learn “how they arrived here, what was the motivation to live in Spain,” he added.

According to Spanish media, all children wore diapers and three surgical masks each on the face. The family’s father asked police to wear a mask before entering the investigation.

Inside, the stench was indescribable. The shutters were all closed. When they got out of the house, the children “touched the grass as if they had never come out in the countryside” writes La Razon.

The children were examined by a doctor and their care has been assigned to a childhood protection center.
