Chevron’s headquarters in Houston, USA, were visited yesterday by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou and the Deputy Minister, Mr. Nikos Tsafos, accompanied by the Managing Director of the Hellenic Management Society of Hydrocarbons and Energy.
The visit of the Greek delegation is part of the Greek government’s attempt to develop the hydrocarbon sector. The Greek mission was welcomed by the president of the Chevron International Exploration and Production, Mr. Clay Neff, and Vice President Liz Schwarze.
Upon his arrival at the company’s premises, Mr. Papastavrou made the following statement: “We are happy to be at the Chevron offices, following the interest in the company in exploring hydrocarbons in Greece. My presence here with a high -ranking delegation demonstrates our commitment and determination to explore Greece’s natural resources for the benefit of all Greek citizens. And it emphasizes our intention to proceed with the process of international competition as quickly as possible. “
At the end of the meeting, the delegation toured the state -of -the -art security center, where Chevron’s drilling internationally are recorded in real time.
Today, the Greek delegation will make successive visits to ExxonMobil and Cheniere Energy.
