Iran has repeatedly stated that its right to enrich uranium is non -negotiable and has excluded the request for “zero enrichment”
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakzi said today that if the goal of the United States is to deprive Iran from his “nuclear rights”, Tehran will never unravel them.
Arakchi made this statement from Doha, the day before another round of scheduled nuclear talks between Iran and the US in Oman.
“If the objective of the negotiations is to deprive Iran its nuclear rights, I clearly declare that Iran will not retreat from any of its rights,” Arartsi said, according to state media.
Iran has repeatedly stated that its right to enrich uranium is non -negotiable and has ruled out the demand for “zero enrichment” promoted by some US officials.
However, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkov said in an interview on Friday that “Iranian enrichment facilities must be dismantled” in any agreement with Washington.
“In his indirect talks with the US, Iran emphasized its right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and clearly states that it does not seek to obtain nuclear weapons. Iran continues its negotiations good faith and if the aim of these talks is to ensure that the non -acquisition of nuclear weapons is possible, a deal is likely. But if the goal is to limit Iran’s nuclear rights, Iran will never dispel its rights, “Arakzi said.
