More than 35 years in prison have been imposed by the Three -Member Court of Appeals in Lamia on a group of 17 people who have been charged with drug trafficking in Lamia and the wider area since 2017.

Of the 17 defendants, only one was found innocent, as no guilt was found in the hearing.

The court dismissed the charges of setting up a criminal organization, but proceeded with particularly heavy penalties. In 2 of the defendants, who had a leading role in drug trafficking, he imposed a 10 -month and 6 -month prison and a fine of 10,400 euros on one, 10 years and 4 months with a fine of 10,400 euros and the second.

The other 9 defendants imposed penalties from 1 to 3 years, while 11 convicts were released when the court ruled that the appeal exerted had a suspensive force.

For the other 5 defendants, after a long hearing, he turned the charge into “drug trafficking for the same use” and ceased their criminal prosecution.

The group of 17 defendants were arrested in 2017 by Lamia Security Police officers in the Lamia area, in the area of ​​Ypati, but also in other areas, after previously monitoring the telephones, they had recorded their communications, unraveling the tangle of a particularly serious drug trafficking case.
