A criminal group operating in human trafficking was abducted through the systematic exploitation in Chania.

The police arrested three people for trafficking in human beings, forgery and circulation of counterfeit coins and other means of payment, while the victims of marketing were found in a hotel complex, which the detainees used as a resident where they lived with them.

Also seized of -16- Passports of foreign authorities, fake banknotes, the sum of -3,200 euros, pistol, -10 -mobile phones.

The criminal group operating in the trafficking of people, who were under systematic work in Chania, were arrested by a 48 -year -old resident who is incarcerated in a prison store and two foreigners (42 and 51 years old), accused of being a criminal group. Which, according to data, is trading people in the profession, facilitating their entry into Greece and their illegal stay, for falsification and circulation of counterfeit coins and, where appropriate, for violations of gun law. There was a thorough investigation and appropriate use of data by police officers from the Chania Crimes Prosecution and Criminal Court in cooperation with the Kissamos Police Department and the assistance of the Attica Criminal Prosecution and Criminal Division.

The research revealed that the detainees, having specific roles and action methodology, approached foreign nationals of various nationalities, taking advantage of that their victims were in need of work and otherwise coercive and at times deceitful, and at times deceitful, Businesses, gaining illegal property benefit from them. In addition, they were active in facilitating the unlawful entry and residence of these people into Greece. In particular, it was ascertained that the 48 -year -old and the 42 -year -old acting together and at least in the last 6 months, they have traveled from Athens to Chania with the accompaniment of the 51 -year -old, at least -39 -immigrants, without legal travel documents and tried to place them for work in business in Chania. In a coordinated police operation, held in a hotel complex in the area of ​​Kissamos Municipality, which the defendants used as a property and lived with their victims, three foreigners were identified, who had arrived there under their supervision and guidance.

In surveys conducted in places and houses possessed and used by the detainees in Chania and Athens, in total, they found and seized: “16 Passports notes with persons of persons and money ”.

According to authorities, the incarcerated member of the criminal group was arrested by police officers of the Kissamos Police Department on 03.05.2025 because they were pending convictions with a total sentence of 12 years in prison for forgery, fraud and distinguished thefts.

For the victims of trafficking, due to their work exploitation, contact was made to provide assistance and protection with the help of the non -governmental organization to “A21” human trafficking issues.

The detainees will be referred to the Chania Public Prosecutor.
