Emotional moments unfolded Wednesday afternoon at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she was awarded to the family of Thomai Plakias, a victim of the Tempe tragedy, the degree in Pharmacy, a school where she was studying.

The AUTH paid tribute to the memory of Thomai Plakias, who was killed at the age of just 19 in the conflict of the two trains in February 2023 on the sidelines of the anniversary event that took place at the University Ceremony Hall for the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Department of Pharmacy. This is the awarding of the “Honorary Title of Memory” that the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has established to honor the memory of its students who lost their lives in the Tempe accident.

In a climate of intense emotional charge and tears in her eyes, the mother of the wronged Thomais, Sofia Plakias, received her degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the President of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, with Nikos Plakias, the father of the unknown student.

“I’m sure Thomais is somewhere and sees us. The school was her great love, it was her dream to graduate from school and continue, “Sofia Plakias said and wished all children to make their dreams come true. “There is no one but a Tempi that will deprive them of as he said so many dreams and so many minds,” he said.
