With the testimony of former Minister of Health, Andrea Loverdou, the trial of the two former protected witnesses in the Novartis case, accused of false deposition and false misrepresentation, continued.

Mr Loverdos is one of the political figures who has sued the two former protected witnesses who had involved them in the Novartis case.

“I was waiting for the moment for seven and a half years, the four and a half was a struggle against justice to prove who I am and what suffered“The former minister said, saying that what was said about bribery by the pharmaceutical giant is lies beyond logic.

“Which was so too false? He said accused in December 2010 that I was informing Novartis of bond haircut. The government had a completely negative position on the haircut of the bonds then. That is, he accused me of undermine my government. I had to be an oracle to talk about haircut. This not only causes disgust but more. A company appears from the second defendant, whose name I had not even heard, they were forced and denied. The defendant then reports that I had acquainted with Mr. Frouzis since I was a Labor Minister, I had no responsibility. He used to say that I knew him then and said that a company was being created to promote me … With these lies, which many overtakes each other, I arrived to suffer and be here today“

Answering questions from the President and the Prosecutor, Mr. Loverdos said: “Madam President I’m here … Come to my place. The story was to remain a government, SYRIZA for ten years. To stay SYRIZA for ten years had to go to prison the political opponents”

Mr Loverdos’ deposition will continue on Thursday.
