Saint Lucas was born to Athanasios and Domnitsa in Adrianople, Thrace. At the age of six, he was orphaned by a father and his mother handed him over to a Zagoras, with whom he settled in Constantinople.

When he was 13, Lucas was in a Turkopoulos out of his master’s house and showed it. This was seen by the Turks present there and rushed with anger against Christianopoulos. Lucas, in order to avoid punishment, told the Turks: “Let me and I will shout.” Then the anger of the Turks was overwhelmed and took him to a noble Turk, who succeeded in his Islamism.

But controlled by his consciousness, Lucas sought the help of his Lord from Zagora, who tried to release him with the intervention of the Russian embassy. Indeed, after a few days, Lucas managed and escaped from his master’s house and, after boarding a ship, went to Smyrna, and from there to Thira. However, he was occupied by the desire of the martyrdom and departed for Mytilene in March 1802 AD.
