Positive in streptococcal infection (A B-Hemolytic Streptococcus-GAS) students were found in schools in Serres, with the municipality informing that it was on alert, as reported by voria.gr.

These are students in schools:

  • 4th – 17th Elementary School of Serres.
  • 8th – 25th Elementary School of Serres.

As stated in a relevant announcement, in cooperation with the National Organization of Public Health (ESO) and the Serres Primary Education Directorate, it is decided to temporarily suspend the functioning of the above schools for Monday, May 26, 2025, in order to carry out preventive disinfection and to ensure health care.

  • Timely update to school addresses to take the necessary measures

Recommendations to parents and teachers

  • Keeping good individual hygiene (hand washing, mouth/nose coverage)
  • Regular ventilation
  • Meticulous cleanliness and disinfection of surfaces and frequently used objects
