The evaluation of of the plan “ARIADNI“ELAS published in Attica for the policing of public transport (Metro, ISAP, Tram).

In particular, according to ELAS, the last four months, which the plan was expanded to the suburban railway and urban buses with emphasis on specific areas of western Attica, have been recorded. More than 700 arrests of people, of which 481 in these areas.

These arrests are mainly concerned with individuals who possess drugs and weapons in the means of transport, Perpetrators who caused buses on the buses by throwing objects in the above areas and attacks on drivers.

At the same time, as it became known by the Police, the expanded plan were indicated during the period:

• Reduction of damage in any case, as well as in the mass movement of fans at sports events recorded in the past,

• Reduction of the presence of people using drugs in Attica’s key stations and

• Reduce the thefts performed against passengers.

In addition, the ELAS announcement notes that “a critical factor in the proper operation of the” ARIADNI “plan is to cooperate with the transport companies, with the presence of police at their control centers to better manage information”.

“The targeted presence of uniforms within the buses and other means facilitates immediate interaction with passengers and the creation of a network of information on resolving immediate security issues,” the statement concludes.
