“Will there be a mandatory care for the islands and the mountainous areas in the next multi -year budgetary framework?”
A clause of equal growth in islands and mountainous areas, with immediate decisions, is seeking New Democracy MEP George Autia, in view of the multiannual fiscal framework and implementation of development policy in 2027 in the regions.
Mr. Equias emphasizes in his question:
The border of the European Union covers 4,381,376 square kilometers, extending from the Aegean to Finland, Ireland, Portugal and Cyprus, on a 65,992 km coastline. The islands are Europe’s natural borders.
This huge area needs immediate and isomers as it faces the impact of climate change, demographic and housing crisis and illegal immigration with limited access to new technologies and means of transport. Decisions must be tuned and targeted.
This element should lead us to immediate actions of equal development of the islands and mountain areas through the regions as the needs are very high.
Based on this data the European Commission is asked:
- Will there be mandatory care for the islands and mountainous areas in the next multi -year budgetary framework?
- Will it move effectively so that mountain and island funding for services and goods are sufficient?
- With what funding tools does the European Commission help to strengthen the financial activities of these areas?
