Pan -Hellenic 2025: The “traps” and computer opportunities

Which schools change name

The Ministry of Education has recently announced some major changes that this year’s candidates, as well as those of 2026, must be aware of. These amendments aim to better imprint the subject of study, as well as to expand the options for the candidates.

Changes in 2025 are limited to renaming two sections:

• The Department of International, European and Regional Studies of Panteion University, renamed “International and European Studies”.
• The Department of Statistics and Insurance Science of the University of Western Macedonia, renamed “Statistics”.

The new sections that ‘unlock’ the scientific fields in 2026:

Humanities, Legal and Social Sciences

• Added the Department of Regional and Economic Development (Amfissa) of the Agricultural University of Athens

Positive and technology sciences

• Add the Departments of Theatrical Studies (EKPA, University of Peloponnese, University of Patras)
• Added the Department of Administration of Agricultural Enterprises and Supply Systems (Thebes) of the Agricultural University
• Added the Nursing Officers’ School (San)

Health and Life Sciences

• Add the Departments of Theatrical Studies (EKPA, University of Peloponnese, University of Patras)
• Military schools are added: BSE (weapons & bodies), Icarus School (Flying, Engineers, Air Auditors, Meteorologists), SMYA (Technological & Administrative Support), SMS (Weapons & Bodies), SMYN (Navy)

Economics and Informatics Sciences

• Added the Department of Forestry and Management of the Physical Environment (Karpenissi) of the Agricultural University
• Add the Departments of Theatrical Studies (EKPA, University of Peloponnese, University of Patras)
• Added Military Schools: BSE (Weapons & Bodies), SMYA (Technological & Operational Support – Radiostas), SMS (Weapons)

It is worth noting that the above changes will be effected by the Pan -Hellenic exams of 2026 and are expected to influence candidates’ choices in computer bulletins.
