Her last breath left today, at the age of 46, the policeman last April had been seriously injured in service by passing truck, close to Agios Nikolaos Halkidiki. Recently, the unfortunate woman, a mother of four, had been diagnosed with liver failure and was hospitalized at the Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki, where she died this morning.
According to police, the woman was part of a patrol crew, who, during a patrol just before 5am on April 5, was in front of an episode between two young drivers, a 26 -year -old and a 33 -year -old, at the 41st km of the Neo -Moudani Provincial Road. The police officer and a colleague went to mediate and divide the two drivers, who, having stopped their vehicles on the edge of the pavement, were caught in their hands. At that moment the fatal van, driving a 62 -year -old fisherman and dragged the 33 -year -old man and police officer.
The former lost his life on the spot, while the second was initially injured in Polygyros Hospital, where he underwent surgery for fractures. He was subsequently taken to the “Agios Dimitrios” hospital, where the wound was intervened in the right eye and then to the 424 Military Hospital in Thessaloniki where he was immediately admitted to the ICU, and then to the intensive care of the Hippocrates.
