At the Buparasia Police Department, in Varda Ilias, the parents of the 11 -month -old infant who found himself on his own in a balcony of an apartment in Thessaloniki, are being held yesterday, causing shock and anger in the Panhellenic.
The family, Bulgarian nationals, came to Ilia for unknown reasons where they were found by authorities in a camp, thanks to a mobile stigma, which indicated that they were near Pyrgos.
According to patrisnews.com, on the order of a prosecutor, all minor children in the family will be temporarily hosted at the Pyrgos General Hospital to ensure their health and safety, while continuing the social and legal investigation of the case.
The incident was revealed on Monday morning when neighbors alerted the authorities, listening to the infant crying nonstop. Police stormed into the apartment and found the child alone on the balcony, while the parents were sleeping inside the house with the windows closed.
The case is now in the hands of judicial and social services, and the investigation is continuing to determine the exact living conditions of children and the possible existence of neglect over time.
