A 54 -year -old Ukrainian arrested in Arnea Halkidikias he is wanted in his home country for municipal real estate fraud in her city Odessa.
The wanted, prosecuted with an international warrant, was arrested yesterday afternoon, reporting that he was heading to Mount Athos. Was driven today at noon to Thessaloniki Public Prosecutor’s Office of Appeals and it was decided to detention until the Judicial Council on its issuance in Ukraine was issued.
According to the persecution documents of the Ukrainian authorities, he is accused of establishing and joining a criminal group, fraud and forgery. The criminal procedure was moved by the Regional court of Odessa.
The 54 -year -old reportedly is allegedly an elected Odessa Councilor, while the actions attributed to him are linked to his participation – for many years – to a permanent municipal property committee of the city. With his contribution, he is accused of “starring” in arbitrary real estate management by damaging municipal property.
Placing before the Prosecutor of Appeals on the charges, the 54 -year -old denied them, and said he did not want to be issued in Ukraine. The Thessaloniki Court of Appeals will meet next time to decide whether to issue it in his home country.
