In view of the launch of work for the new seven -storey parking lot of 3,365 vehicles at Athens International Airport, which will be erected in the position of the existing short space of 1, the key changes in the location and operation of the parking facilities are announced today.
The project, with a total area of 98,600 sqm, is expected to significantly boost traffic management at the airport, offering new parking spaces and improved access to terminals.
Below are the main changes that will apply during construction and after completing them.
What about vehicles
By the July 10, 2025, the space Short -term 1 (Short Term 1) It closes and transports within the long term, perimeter of the footbridge leading to the main air.
Basic information:
- There will be marking from the Attica Road to guide the new 1 -duration parking space (Short Term 1).
- The marking will include VMS screens that will update in real time about the available 1 & 2 (short term) and long -term (long term) spaces.
- Entrance and exit will be made with a single ticket, which will be used to enter the long -term parking lot as well as to enter the new 1 (Short Term 1) parking space, which will be located in the long run.
- The payment will be made to automatic payment machines exclusively for the short duration of 1 (short term1), located near the rolling stairs of the footbridge, or only with a card at the short run 1.
- The electric chargers will be transferred to the new short -term parking space (short term).
- The parking spaces for the disabled in the short time of 1 are transferred to the short duration of 2 to ensure immediate access to the main airline building.
- The price list in the new 1 short term parking is not changed.
- The new short Term space will apply 30 ‘free parking instead of 20’.
- The new short -term 1 (short term 1) parking lot is just 5 minutes away (with foot) from the main terminal.
ATTENTION: The existing short Term parking space will no longer be available from July 10, 2025.
Vehicle owners are kindly requested to remove them by midnight on July 10, as vehicles that have not been received by their owners until then will be removed with a crane.
Additional:
- The new short -term parking space & the short -term 2 (Short Term 1 & 2) parking will continue to operate without the possibility of online reservation.
- There is exclusively for online reservations for Economy, long term and valet parking lots.
If you visit the airport after 10/07/25, calculate a little more time for parking.
What about motorcycles
Motorcycle parking spaces in short 1 (short term) and outdoors will no longer be available from July 3, 2025.
Motorcycles will be able to park free in the new specially designed long -term parking lot, with a separate entrance for easy access.
ATTENTION : For bicycles/motorcycles – the existing 1 Short Term parking space for motorcycles will no longer be available from July 3, 2025. The owners of motorcycles are requested to remove them by midnight, as long as the 3rd July, they are removed with a crane.
