The occupation authorities arrested and held illegally Greek lawyer in the occupied territories, according to a report by the Cyprus Sigmalive.
The news of the arrest was broadcast late in the afternoon by the Turkish Cypriot press. It has also been confirmed by sources from the Republic of Cyprus.
The Turkish Cypriot press even publishes photos of the lawyer, with handcuffs and a man who is probably “pseudo -confession” holding him from the arm of the so -called Nicosia Court.
The lawyer is known in Greece, has taken over a victims’ defense lawyer in the tragedy of Tempi and is held by the pseudo -state as a suspect for the very serious spy offenses.
The Turkish Cypriot press specifically writes that the “pseudo -region” claims that the Larissa lawyer took photos of military installations and that he was arrested in self -esteem while photographing with his cellphone and filming his 27 -day camera.
He was led before the so -called Nicosia District Court and that the judge decided to hold for four days. A sergeant of the pseudo -region testified that photos of the Turkish “Embassy” in Nicosia and the buildings of the pseudo -city were identified from the investigations on the mobile and the cameras.
The lawyer allegedly rejected the espionage, stating in his testimony that he had taken the photos “for commemorative purposes”.
Turkish Cypriot reports point out that the category of espionage is sentenced to five years in prison.
The Turks also cite various posts by the lawyer on social media.
Diplomatic reaction of Athens
The Turkish Cypriot members of the bi -communal contact office informed the office.
Sigma contacted the Foreign Ministry which confirmed the incident, which is handling in cooperation with the Greek government.
The Embassy of Greece in Nicosia has made protests to UNFICYP in Nicosia, which is well known for such issues and is now expected to react to the pseudo -state.
