The Division of the Combat of the Trafficking and Marketing of the People of the Organized Crime Management was held in the early hours of Thursday coordinated operations in areas of Athens and Rhodes, in the framework of an international request for judicial assistance, with the aim of identifying and arresting 2 internationally trained people.

At the same time they were carried out Checks in 3 houses and a dwellingto identify potential victims of trafficking in human beings and sexualization.

The operation was implemented with the support of the South Eastern European Selec law, in collaboration with the competent Public Prosecutors of Appeals, the Interpol Department of the Directorate of International Police Cooperation, Police Officers of the Division of Prosecution and Criminal Criminal Criminal Criminal Criminal Cooperation, victims of trafficking in human beings.

The police investigation found that, between 2015–2018, the two detainees – A 33 -year -old and a 36 -year -oldThey recruited in Moldova women who were in vulnerable financial situation and, using deceitful means, transported them to Greece. They then settled them in an apartment in Athens, where, using threats and after they removed their travel documentsforced them to be issued in houses in the area of Metaxourgiowithholding their income.

The above were identified as part of the operation by police officers of the Department of Combatity and Trafficking of Humans, near their residence sites, in Athens and Rhodes, where they were arrested.

According to the findings of the Moldovan authorities, with the help of the Greek Police, 9 cases of female – victims of trafficking in human beings were identifiedwho returned to Moldova after the cessation of the criminal activity of those involved.

At the same time, checks were carried out in 3 detention centers, located in a building in Athens, which are related to the case. During the checks, a total of 7 women were arrested, accused of breach of stamps raised by the Authority.

As it turned out, these detention centers had been repeatedly sealed, following relevant decisions by the Municipal Authority, while the investigation was seized the sum of 185 euros.

The detainees are taken to the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the process of reclaiming the detention centers is moving.
