According to a statement, in 2024, Mars focused on collaborations that promote innovative agricultural practices and supply chains without deforestation. The number of “smart agriculture for climate” projects exceeded 60, covering 13 crops in 29 countries. Mars works closely with its partners to reduce energy consumption in their immediate functions and adopting agricultural practices that restore the ground and enhance farmers’ resilience to dangers such as floods, droughts or parasites. The main points of some of the latest projects include:

  • LiveliHoods Fund for Family Farmers (L3F): ​​By 2024, 932 farmers in northern Sumat have received Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), 2,031 acres have gone to innovative farming and 8,000 acres Local communities.
  • Kind Almond Acres initiative: Mars almost doubled the extent of its pilot test program, and water data from the first year of research shows an increase of 17% on the efficiency of underground water use.
  • Sustainable Da’ving Dairy Forward Milk: Mars has committed $ 47 million for three years to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its dairy supply chain. Through collaboration with farmers, suppliers and researchers, Mars contributes to the promotion of significant, positive changes in the dairy sector.
  • Restore project: Mars supports sustainable cocoa cultivation, protecting and restructuring the forests. This program increases forest coverage, creates landscape management councils and new income opportunities for cocoa communities.
  • Sustainable Aromatic Rice Initiative (Sari): The program, featuring 1,445 farmers from the Roi et and Central Plain areas of Thailand, of which 66% are women, has increased rice production by 43% in the ROI et region and by 10% in the Central Plain region, while increasing water consumption by 56% and 41% and 41%. respectively.
