The firefighters in the area of Lake Doerani in Kilkis continue their battle with flames, on a farm area on the border with Northern Macedonia.
The fire had broken out Monday in a landfill in northern Macedonia and around 4pm expanded to the Greek side.
The firefighters who were on alert due to the danger were immediately mobilized.
The extinguishing effort is continued by 60 firefighters with 17 vehicles and three groups of hiking sections and are assisted by aquifers and other machinery of the Municipality of Kilkis. Earlier, two aircraft and two helicopters were also operating from air. The winds earlier reached six beaufort.
