Over 750 laughing gas ampoules (Laugh Ing Gas) were identified and seized by police authorities in Zakynthos, in the Laganas area, and this year their illegal disposition on the island continues.
Also seized 2 mechanisms of use, balloons packages as well as a number of used ampoules and balloons.
The checks were carried out in three stores in the area by police services of the Zakynthos Police Department in collaboration with the Organized Crime Division (DAOE).
In addition, in a store, 2 broken billiards were found and confiscated, landscaped in a 60cm wooden globe.
Three people, owner and managers, were arrested for the above cases, in corresponding stores and with the files formed against them, led to the competent prosecutor’s office.
What are ‘laughing ampoules’ – they are traded as a drug
The nitrogen hypoxide or nitrogen protagonist – also known as “laughter gas” or even a nitro – is a chemical with a chemical type of N2O, which belongs to nitrogen oxides.
At room temperature it is colorless, non-profit gas, with a slightly sweet smell and taste.
It is used in surgery and dental due to its anesthetic and analgesic activity.
It is also known as laughter gas, because it causes euphoria when inhaled, a property that has led to be used for fun.
It is also used as an oxidizing medium in rockets and car racing to increase engine power.
At high temperatures, the nitrogen hypermia is potent oxidizing, similar to molecular oxygen.
Four arrests in Laganas for trafficking and possession of drugs
Four foreigners were arrested in the area of Laganas, Zakynthos, by police officers from the Zakynthos Crimes Prosecution and Crimes During cocaineat the expense of which a case file – as appropriate – for the trafficking and possession of drugs.
Of these, a 44 -year -old drug trafficker was arrested as he was buying cocaine to three holidaymakers.
During the investigations that followed, a total of 10 cocaine “finishes”, a small amount of raw cannabis and the sum of 285 euros were seized.
The detainees were led to the Zakynthos Criminal Prosecutor, and, in addition, the 44 -year -old after being prosecuted against him was referred to Mr Investigator.
