The area is operated by 35 firefighters with 13 vehicles and a hiking section, while fire helicopters also assisted yesterday.
The good thing is that there are no strong winds, which helps to limit the fire, with the Fire Brigade estimating that today there will be no need for new air throws.
According to ERT, the Municipality Bus remains in the area yesterday, on alert for possible residents, notably those who have health problems due to the cloud.
The Vice -Mayor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, in his statements to ERT, said that, based on the measurements so far, the levels of pollution of the atmosphere are within the permissible limits, but a clearer picture of the impact will be there in the day.
