Available through gov.gr are today three new digital services, which facilitate citizens and enhance transparency in the implementation of the Special Vehicle Traffic regime in Hydra. The services were implemented in the context of the cooperation of the Ministries of Culture and Digital Government.
Specifically, citizens can:
- To submit an electronic application for the approval of landing and temporary residence of project machinery on the island.
- Check whether a vehicle circulating on the island has the necessary approval through open data.
- Report vehicles for unauthorized traffic to the competent authorities.
These services contribute to the protection of the particular monumental nature of Hydra, ensuring that the movement of vehicles and in particular project machinery is carried out solely after the projected approval. In addition, they cultivate a relationship of trust with citizens, enabling them to actively participate in control of legality with rapid and transparent processes.
In particular, the application for the landing, traffic and residence of project vehicles is digitally submitted, either through Gov.gr in the “Culture, Sport and Tourism” section and in the “Culture” subsection, or directly here.
Interested parties enter TAXISNET codes, complete the details of the approved project and the vehicle, the desired date of the vehicle landing on the island and departure from it and submit their request to the competent Ephorate of Piraeus and Islands for control and processing. The document of the answer bears an advanced electronic stamp of the Ministry of Digital Governance and a unique verification number, and is posted on the applicant’s citizen’s port on Gov.gr and on Gov.gr Wallet.
An open data service is also available for all vehicles that have received traffic and stay on the island. These include both project machines that have received a specific approval related to a project executed on the island, as well as vehicles for the needs of the local community, such as a firefighter, ambulance, and a garbage truck. The list includes the traffic number, the expiry date of the approval and the permissible movement limits, so that every citizen can transparen on the island to be entitled to be on the island.
At the same time, a digital complaint of vehicles circulating on the island without permission is provided. The complaint is submitted via Gov.gr, in the “Citizen and Daily” section and in the “complaints” subsection. The complainant mentions the vehicle’s registration number and the details of the time and place where the vehicle was circulating or parked on the island. The complaint shall be notified to the competent audit authorities of the Hellenic Police.
The planning and implementation were carried out by the Single Digital Portal Coordination Service-gov.gr of the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Government with the help of the National Technology and Research Network (EDITY SA-GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Government.
