Today’s wide-ranging meeting shows the personal interest of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, but also of the government as a whole in the effort to upgrade road safety. The issue of road safety is a constant “bet”. Synergies and collaborations are needed, in order for our country to show a clear improvement in the field of reducing road accidents and road accidents, but also to improve the environment and road infrastructure. The Ministry of Civil Protection is implementing a series of actions in cooperation with the other ministries and we are sure that the results will be visible soon.

“The Ministry of Education, through the Skills Laboratories, has integrated road safety and traffic education in the education of kindergarten, elementary and high school students. The thematic cycle “I live better – Happy life – Life lessons and health education”, with the subsection of Road Safety and through experiential and exploratory learning, cultivates skills of traffic awareness and safe movement. Through the platform of the Institute for Educational Policy, teachers can draw on and use programs, manuals and guides for a holistic approach to the development of healthy road behavior, starting from the very first school years. “Familiarization of students with the meaning and value of traffic education, through education, brings us even closer to the auspicious perspective for the development of a socially responsible behavior on the road.”

Unfortunately, as a country we have many road accidents and the Ministry of Health and EKAB are participating with all their might in the timely treatment of any injury and safety throughout the country. For this reason, we organize training seminars not only for rescuers but also for citizens in the provision of first aid. Road safety and proper care concern us all, our children, the young and the old people of the country. “The right handling, with care and respect for the maintenance of the LEA for emergency vehicles reflects our culture.”
